Creation Technologies – Milwaukee was one of 20 Wisconsin companies to be awarded the Gold Well Workplace Award by the Wellness Council of America (WELCOA) in 2009, making it one of ‘America’s Healthiest Companies’.
Awards were presented during the Wellness Council of Wisconsin’s 19th Annual Worksite Wellness Conference before an audience of 700 companies at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells.
The Well Workplace designation measures organizations against seven key benchmarks of success including executive support, operating plan and cohesive wellness teams. In order to achieve the Gold standard, a company must demonstrate implementation of a comprehensive, results-oriented wellness program that is a strategic and integral part of its operations.
“This award is a national accreditation of our Wellness Program and a major accomplishment for our team,” said Creation’s President & CEO, Arthur Tymos. “It validates our Wellness mission to encourage each employee’s active participation in a healthy lifestyle that will foster friendships, physical exercise, proper eating habits, reduced stress, and maintain a positive outlook on life”.
Creation’s Wellness Program is voluntary, but all of its people are encouraged to participate in various lunch-and-learn sessions, fitness classes and wellness walks for all business units several times a year. Focus areas include nutrition, smoking cessations, ergonomics, disease prevention, physical fitness and stress management. Additionally, the company has developed the ‘100% Club’, where employees can earn points for healthy behavior that is validated by their physicians.
Creation’s Oak Creek, WI facility is also one of the original 20 chartering companies leading the way for the City of Milwaukee to receive WELCOA’s “Well City” designation.
